Which of us is a perfect hero? We might posit that great harm is done by well-intended hagiography, because the real man can never measure up. It is also worth noting that it seems that some of the sins of the Inklings were pre-Christ, and the others seem to have been dealt with by history, which has largely forgotten Neville Coghill, Arthur Greeves, and Charles Williams.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
