...but how you get there that determines whether it's moral or not, no? Personally, it gives me pause when I consider that an awful lot of Musk's wealth is provided by "rent-seeking", becoming the beneficiary of public subsides for Tesla and such.

And then there is something I cannot answer; what does God want Musk to do with his resources? Luke 12:48, "To whom much is given, much is required", no? I am guessing that God's will for Elon Musk does not include siring a child with Ashley St. Clair and then abandoning them, to put it mildly.

Personally, I'm glad I don't have those resources and temptations, as they'd likely distract me from doing what God has for me to do, and quite frankly because when one moves the decimal point a few places from where it is for me, you go from the place of "accountability means I just stop supporting them" to a place of "I could literally destroy a church or charity with this gift.".

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

Often the assumption behind questions like that is that by having so much he is keeping other people from having. But it doesn’t work that way. The businesses operated by successful CEOs employ lots and lots of people. Even an IPO like SpaceX’s made a lot of money for a lot of people other than Musk. That’s how freedom works in economies. It’s not a pie being sliced up. It’s a pie being multiplied.
