I agree with the things stated, but I think more is needed. Some effort should be made to study the issue in historical and global context. We humans skew so easily toward our immediate context. Whatever we know best we think normal. So, we need to calibrate our sense of normal. We can do this only by incorporating broader perspectives. I’m fine with someone coming to a relatively unusual conclusion as long as that person has faced the fact of its minority status.
