“In 2013 a contentious doctor-assisted suicide bill (Act 39) was signed into law [in Vermont]. It contains very slim protections for physicians who don’t want to participate due to matters of conscience or religious belief.”

Something is seriously wrong when the law forces medical personnel to kill—this is one of several things I’ve seen today in this regard. Here, it’s doctors and assisted suicide. In Illinois and elsewhere, pharmacists are forced to prescribe abortifacients. Nationwide, nuns are compelled to provide funds for Plan B abortifacients. In Sweden, a midwife is being forced to provide abortions—keep in mind that midwives are not even surgically trained to do the procedure. In England, the NHS has sued to prevent a family from taking their child to the United States for care.

“first, do no harm”
