I hear a fair number of “springboard” sermons—the guy uses a text and then goes to his soapbox. Now I am no stranger to soapboxes, as y’all know, but hopefully I can at least pretend to avoid justifying them with unrelated Scripture!

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
