It’s little bit unfair to compare a defensive address from the meeting floor to a sermon. SBC was considering kicking Warren et al out of the convention. So that’s going to skew your emphasis more than a little.

That said, I think DiPrima is right that there are two different conflicting visions here for what ministry success really looks like. It’s not really reducible to Key Performance Indicators. Maybe Warren would also say so, but Sanchez still articulated a very different angle on what ministry is all about.
