The winning lawyers are saying (WND, Fox) that they’re hoping to look into why the charges were filed. I’m no lawyer, but I do know the term of a grand jury is well known to both prosecutors and judges, so it’s odd that such an obvious unforced error was made. The trick is whether it’s truly an error, or whether someone might someday fess up that it wasn’t an error at all a la Mike Nifong. Could be very interesting.
