New"the mark"

Fri, 09/13/19

Later in the piece…

Pastor Dave Doyle:

“I take microchipping as a form of the mark. There’s many pieces of the mark, and then again, all these pieces of the mark is designed to control,” he said. “It will eventually become something that’s mandatory, and for those who refuse it, you will have to deal with the authorities who don’t appreciate your opinions.”

… hmmm.

First, I don’t think what we’re told in Revelation is intended to be instruction on what we’re to do with data-collecting technology. Second, I’m more concerned about how to sort out the ethics of increasingly putting electronics in our bodies (where does that stop?) and copororate and government power that goes with it. Third, does this sort of tech make the scenario in Revelation more achievable, if you read it that literally? Sure. What you have there is an oppressive world government. It’s a thin basis for opposing the tech itself though. All kind of tech. is used well and used badly by governments around the world. There’s a stronger argument in civil liberties and freedom of conscience.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
