Would LDS Church influence Romney if president?

This is what’s puzzling to me about those who fear his Mormonism. What moral or political stance, outside of polygamy, would the LDS take that would be different than our moral or political stances?

Of course the Mormon Church has deep influence on Mitt Romney. How could it not? My question is, “Can a religion that has been persecuted resist the temptation to persecute if one of its members earns the ultimate political power?”

I believe the answer lies in observing Mormons in public office, particularly is significant ones and I believe that answer is that does not appear to be the approach of the LDS.

Case study: Is Utah a well-governed state?

All other things being equal … if you were an immigrant and could choose any one state in which to reside, your choices are: California, Illinois, New York, or Utah … which you pick

Remember … all other things being equal … which of the above four states has the most efficient, well-run government?

I would pick Utah … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah#Religion] 58% Mormon . Now look at t http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Governors_of_Utah] he list of Utah Governors …. check out the religion of each … (shouldn’t surprise you!)

Now http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/retiree_map/ consider the tax rates of the 50 states . (Utah is not the lowest tax state … not my point … but contrast with the other three Democratic party dominated states above)

The http://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm consider the unemployment rate of the states (I presume you want to work!)
