I received word from Rev. Dan Greenfield, Acting Executive Secretary, that Ralph Colas, Executive Secretary of the ACCC was promoted to glory today. Funeral arrangements are pending.

The American Council of Christian Churches announces that its Executive Secretary for the last 23 years, Dr. Ralph Colas, went home to be with the Lord around 1:30 pm Thursday afternoon, October 22. He fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. Dr. Colas became a member of the Executive Committee of the ACCC in 1963. In his service for Christ leading the Council, Dr. Colas gave his life to the defense of the faith and the care of our churches. His dear wife Alice served faithfully by his side. She and her family are in our prayers. Their legacy among us is our enduring commitment to follow our brother’s example of earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints.
Visitation and a funeral service are tentatively scheduled for late Monday Morning, October 26, at the Bethel Baptist Church, 754 E. Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA, 18960.

Dr. Ralph Colas was a godly and gracious man who stood firmly for the faith. His reports on important events within evangelicalism were informative and fair-minded. In my interactions with him over the years, I always found him to be the kind of gracious servant of Christ that I desire to be.

While I rejoice that his suffering is over and that he has entered the presence of the Savior Whom he loved, I mourn the loss of this faithful servant and I pray for Dan and others as they stand in the space once occupied by Dr. Colas.
