Dave Wilkerson pastored in central PA back in the 50’s. He had a custom of watching late night TV but came to feel that he needed to spend that time praying. So he sold his TV and began praying in the late evenings. Soon after, a story of some youths in trouble in NYC caught his attention and through that God led him to begin ministering in NYC.
