NewInteresting ....

Wed, 09/11/13

My working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust. I appreciate this. I carefully studied his address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States’ policy is “what makes America different. It’s what makes us exceptional.” It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

NewVery interesting

Wed, 09/11/13

I have watched over the past few days as Russia has adroitly stepped into the leadership role in the Syrian situation as President Obama has fluttered about like a schizophrenic butterfly, seemingly unable to put forth a coherent course of action. At least Putin can articulate what he wants to do.

Our handling of this entire situation is embarrassing.

NewYou can't have it both ways

Thu, 09/12/13

This President can’t seem to decide if he is for bombing Syria because chemical warfare is morally wrong and must be punished, or whether the threat to bomb Syria is simply a political ploy to broker a deal. He first made the case for moral abhorrence — such an heinous act against innocent men, women, and children must not go unpunished. But then he showed this was a matter for diplomatic discussion. Indeed we might forego punishment if we could gain some presumed political advantage. President Obama shows he is not a man guided by the moral principles of right and wrong but rather by political expediency. Such a leader is a threat to this country more than he is to the rest of the world. The year 2016 can’t come too soon!

NewAs a history teacher, I have

Thu, 09/12/13

As a history teacher, I have characterized Obama’s first term in office as the most dangerous and destructive presidential term in U. S. history to my students. I am beginning to believe his second term is going down historically as the most inept and amateurish in U. S. history - even weaker and more farcical than Carter’s single term.

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

NewRomans 13

Fri, 09/13/13

Romans 13 tells us that we need to respect and obey those that God has placed to rule over us. We need to pray for our President. Its okay to disagree with him, but we always need to keep in mind God is the one that placed President Obama in the White House. We have to stop this mentality that we cannot wait to get to the next election. The Apostle Paul did not tell the Romans to hold out hope for the next Caesar. I think we can agree that Nero was probably a worse ruler than President Obama!!

NewRomans 13 and whom God put over us

Fri, 09/13/13

Observation: Obama is no Caesar.

God has put many rulers over us ….. including 100 Senators and 435 House Representatives, Federal judges, etc.

Even dissent is a part of the “rulers over us” process in our Constitutional system.

But point taken …. we need to pray for the President (as well as other rulers).

Yes, all humans are created equal—but not all nations are created equal. Heritage President Jim DeMint sent a letter to President Putin today explaining this idea.
