NewI empathize with the sincere

Tue, 09/24/13

I empathize with the sincere intent of the youth leader, but not the ultimate goal he expresses. I wish he had replaced every mention of the youth group and youth activities with a simple statement regarding the church. And I wish this had been given to the parents by the pastor directed primarily toward the adult involvement rather than this youth focus.

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

NewExactly Chip. Dear Misguided

Exactly Chip.

Dear Misguided Youth Pastor,

Since your role is no more set out in Scripture than my dog’s, my children should learn how to assimilate from being a child into being a responsible church member. Your “youth” group isn’t necessary for that to happen.

Sincerely,

Parents and Elders serious about their roles.

1 Kings 8:60 - so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other.
