This is a very exciting account, and a tribute to a Lutheran pastor who wanted to win souls for Christ, even when given a responsibility he did not desire. Gerecke died in 1961, so his story is now mostly forgotten. I am glad someone has decided to retell it. The recording ( again http://www.stjohnchester.com/Gerecke/Gerecke.html) is quite interesting. Gerecke was an engaging speaker.
