“We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. (Numbers 13:26-28)
I strongly advise NOT GOING

Discussions about this discovery will probably reveal more about us than they will this “new” planet.

Anyway, the people living on that planet have already visited and surveyed earth. Their verdict? “Mostly Harmless”

Faith is obeying when you can't even imagine how things might turn out right.

In my view a colossal of $$

But hey they did give us http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tang_%28drink%29] Tang and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velcro] Velcro !

David, who had no telescope, http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+19:1-3&version=NKJV] had a greater appreciation for the God of the universe than 1000’s of NASA engineers combined!

I agree that this is the motivation for all the interstellar microbe chasing that NASA is engaged in. Why would it follow that finding water or fungus on another planet means

Consider NASA, whose administrator, Charles Bolden, has said that “perhaps foremost” among NASA’s missions is finding “a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science.”
