They say that good writing comes from good reading—and hence if the sermon is a mile wide and an inch deep, you infer that either he’s an exception, or he’s been reading a mile wide and an inch deep.
And sadly, reading a mile wide and an inch deep is a tragic way to do ministry, as the practicioners of this art end up saying a lot of things that aren’t consistent with Scripture.
