I willingly and mostly electively took a lot of science (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics…) in high school (a fine Christian school) and in college (a major secular university). I learned a great deal, and loved each & every class. Nevertheless, one of the chief things I learned is that science has frequently amended its assumptions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superseded_scientific_theories

Some of today’s pet theories are destined to be some of tomorrow’s additions to the long list of failed scientific hypotheses.
