NewContrarian Careers

Sat, 05/31/14

This is massive. (although not unexpected)

The mark of the beast is being fulfilled before our eyes, with people being unable to buy or sell (be employed) without giving allegiance to anti-Christian belief systems. The mark will be more than just a piece of technology. It will have a spiritual purpose and this is totally spiritual.

Practially:

I am encouraging my 4 young kids to pursue ‘contrarian careers’ because the traditional career pathway is being closed to Christians. While there is something to be said for home-steading and being more self-sufficient, that may be the only way remnant Christians can feed themselves in the future. It is not about being doom and gloom, but it is about being prepared for the new social order that is obviously coming.

Church-wise:

I just wish churches would preach more explicitly about such trends, because otherwise we are not equipping the saints to stand in the evil day. Unfortunately many of today’s pastors naively preach a soft-Jesus without any practical teeth.

Let me be blunt. If one claims to be a Christian and also justify ‘gay-marriage’, then they are not saved. Those who support codifying ‘gay marriage’ will be hear ‘Depart from me, I never knew you’. Supporting gay-marriage is proof that repentance of the mind has not occurred. Of course Christians continue to struggle with sin, even homosexual sin, and we must confess individual sins and seek forgiveness. However, redemptive repentance is changing our mind about sin and saying the same thing that God says about it (Romans 12). To declare that what God calls sin is not sin, is to reject the need for the application of His blood. It is this which condemns those who support gay marriage.
