it’s interesting that a http://www.livingstondaily.com/article/20101115/NEWS01/101114034/Forum-…-] local paper characterizes the “anti-gay speech” more kindly:
McDowell was suspended one day without pay after dismissing a student from class last month who said homosexuality is against his Catholic beliefs.
from the same article, it seems relevant that the trouble started with an argument over a student wearing a belt-buckle with a confederate flag. i know there are probably some southerners here who would defend the flag, but for most, and especially in light of graeme taylor’s comments at the forum, i’m sure it was nothing but a white supremacist statement.
