Note that the statement of faith is about as broad as a church’s can be—far broader than even those of the ELCA, UMC, PCUSA, and the like—and contains no real statement of the Gospel. How exactly this church came to be called “evangelical” is beyond me, except perhaps in the modeling of the service after that of an evangelical church. They’ve just made their views official, as far as I can tell.
