It occurs to me that Dr. Olson never seems to define his terms, which is kind of odd for a column seeking to, ya know, help us define the terms. Am I missing something here? Appreciate the appeal to historical context—I was led to Christ by a history major and a linguistics major—but given that theological liberalism and fundamentalism are historically defined by five simple propositions where the two groups found themselves in opposition to one another, it is perplexing to me why he doesn’t just say it!
