This does not surprise me, nor do I really care one way or the other.
With that said, I am amazed how in the last 5 years we went from conservative on a number of issues to be world leading on some of these issues. Besides North Korea, we are the only country in the world where it is 100% legal to use marijuana for recreational use. Granted this is only at certain state levels, but even so, there is no where else in the world like this. We decried Netherlands for being so liberal, yet we leapfrogged right over them. In terms of assisted suicide, we did the same thing. Very few countries allow this.
