Good thoughts. I very much agree that Christian ministries, from local churches to large seminaries, regularly capitulate to the thinking of the world, often using worldly methods. It’s hard to tell ourselves the truth. If we were of this world the world would love us. But we are not, and we need to stop appeasing the world to win its approval.

I found it interesting that a man who holds a named, distinguished professor chair (Henry R. Luce III Professor of the Civil War Era at Gettysburg College), which is the pinnacle of academic success, wrote an article based on being told as a graduate student that “The slightest hint of religion on your résumé is the kiss of death”. So how did he do it?
