Babylon Bee (satire): Crossway Publishing has thrown their hat into the console gaming ring with their announcement of the upcoming John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life: The Game … One moment gamers are evangelizing at the drive-through, and the next they’re going above-and-beyond at their day job, all in the pursuit of CHP (Christian Hedonism Points).

Parody doesn’t work well when the times are so foolish that no folly is implausible. See the Filings item that follows this one. You just can’t make this stuff up.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

Here I thought the way the game would work is that 45 seconds after launch, the game would self-destruct (like the old Mission Impossible tapes) and then take out the game console with it! :)

Back in the good old days when I was in college, I had the privilege of seeing Tom Wolfe speak, and he noted that one of the difficulties of writing satire in this era was that real life was weird enough already—how do you parody it? Thankfully Weird Al shows us the way!

Loving the Bee, by the way.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
