….and it illustrates the nuances of ancient law that separated a foreigner, a legal resident, and the like. We cannot assume that since the OT encourages kindness to the foreigner, that this means we need to accept any and all immigrants under any and all conditions, as that simply wasn’t how the ancients thought, and that is the context of the OT.
