Rob, I’m unsure if MBU’s Army ROTC guys (under UW Madison’s Badger Battalion) would ever directly compete with a future BJU squad. As a direct commission guy myself, I didn’t have the ROTC opportunity, but this would sure be fun.
This is a great new opportunity overall for BJU. My high school son is researching ROTC scholarships now going into his senior year. He’ll have opportunities I never had. And I know a couple BJU grads now Army officers who are interested in applying to return as the PMSI (Prof of Military Science / Instructor) to lead BJU’s program. These field grade officers would be great instructors, and I hope it happens.
I hope to see a mini-micro version of the Citadel v Texas A&M rivalry between the graduates of the two programs. With both allying against the West Point mafia.
