If the 1998 version is cheaper, then I’ll likely but it! I have Murray, Moo (he just released his 2nd ed, too!), Hendricksen, Morris and Dunn on Romans, along with the usual suspects (EBC, NAC, TNTC, etc.). And, not to be outdone, Zondervan just released its volume on Romans from its exegetical commentary series, and I believe B&H recently released its Romans volume from its exegetical Greek series, too.
I’m not too moved by the argument that “the scholarship is updated!” I suspect Schreiner will interact with more updated arguments about NPP and the law passages, the same way the newer Galatians commentaries do, and that would be the advantage it has over the 1998 version. Maybe I”ll have the church buy it for me, so I don’t have to pay for it!

NewI have Schreiner's First Edition
I found it solid and helpful. I didn’t think it was quite as amazing as some other do. Fortunately, there are lots of good commentaries on Romans.
