Once you get past the Metaxas type of church history, you realize there is no point in trying to lionize Christians in the past. Many of them are deeply flawed. It’s just the reality.

Still, if someone’s entire life repudiates their profession, I’m unlikely to read them. It’s a personal decision we all will make differently.
