....is, IMO, that a lot of high schoolers have figured out they can "pass" their math classes with the AI algorithms out there--which leaves them helpless in the ACTs when they can't access their cell phone. If we care about kids, we need to work to reduce their dependence on that kind of thing.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
