I haven't listened to Gavin's video, yet, but my understanding is that Bonhoeffer was neo-orthodox, had the typical neo-orthodox view of Scripture, and was a classic ecumenist.

If not for his role in trying to assassinate Hitler, few would care about Bonhoeffer. I have read several of his writings. Invest your time with someone else.

Theologically different from most of us, myself included, but he had the guts to take on Hitler. Understanding the why and how he did so is worth our time.

His theology is not worth our time. His ethics are part of the broader ethical discussion about Hitler; but beyond that, find someone else to read.
