NewThe reason why people may…

The reason why people may not be comforted by Scripture, is that they are looking for a way out of suffering. Scripture does not provide a formula of read or believe a bible verse and your anguish or suffering will disappear. Suffering requires you to move through it. It exacts a price. The hope that we cling to, as outlined in 1 Peter, is that it is for a season. There will be an end to it, but that does not mean it becomes easy. Our faith is not refined through getting an easy out. It will be hammered against an anvil. Too many Christians want suffering to be on their terms and seek Scripture that can relieve the pain. But that is not the path.
