Christians don’t have to be angry all the time.

In this excerpt from his little book Prophetic Untimeliness: A Challenge to the Idol of Relevance,¹ Os Guinness puts his finger on a key issue in the conservative Christian sub-culture. His comments are even more interesting when you consider the book was published in 2003:

Proclaim & Defend: God is not funny and comedy is not a fruit of the Spirit. Where has all the reverence gone?

Ligonier: It is a sign of hubris to think one can face life without the wisdom of those who have gone before … We need the wisdom of the past and of the elderly.

Federalist: Americans talking about theology sound about as competent as country singers rapping.

Douglas Wilson: [T]he issue is not whether the West has ever faced greater threats. Of course we have—much greater threats. But that is a different question from whether we have ever been in as great a danger. We are in great peril, not because the threat is so much greater, but rather because we are so much weaker.
