Cruz, DeSantis Portray the Left As Demonic, the Right As God’s True Followers

By Filings on Thu, 06/24/21
Body

“You’ve got to be strong,” said DeSantis at the end of his speech. “You’ve got to put on the full armor of God. You’ve got to take a stand, take a stand against the Left’s schemes. You’ve got to stand your ground. You’ve got to be firm. You will face flaming arrows, but take up the shield of faith and fight on.” - C.Leaders

Should Christians think biblically about our politics or think politically about our faith?

By Filings on Wed, 06/09/21
Body

“The church, the body of believers, has a key role in the political process. But that role has to be marked by humility and reflection. It also has to be marked by a commitment to be more faithful to the Word of God than we are to either political party.” - Bill Haslam

By Filings on Tue, 06/01/21
Body

“This tendency to see contested public-policy issues—such as those concerning immigration, religious liberty, or economics—through the lens of modern political ideologies and party platforms before seeing them through the lens of the gospel is problematic.” - TGC

Let Us Reason Together

By Paul J. Scharf on Tue, 01/12/21

For those who hoped that our experience of living in times of crisis might end with 2020, I do not need to tell you that your hopes have already been dashed.

We might consider the string of crises that date back to last March as separate events, or we might think of them as one multi-faceted whole. We might also discuss those who appear to have engineered them, manipulated them or benefited from them.

But one thing is for sure: We are living in a time of national crisis, and our way of life has been altered—likely forever—in ways that we could not have imagined 12 months ago.

The Cultural Consequences of Very, Very Republican Christianity

By Filings on Mon, 11/16/20
Body

“It’s way too simple to say that it impairs the ability of Christians to reach their friends and neighbors. In some places it enhances the church’s appeal and integrates Christians within their community. In other places it creates a host of challenges and needlessly alienates Christians from their fellow citizens.

Body

“1. Politics is what you are most passionate to speak about…. 2. Your enemy is the other political viewpoint/side…. 3. You live as if there is an enduring city here.” - Eric Geiger

“...for a long time now in American life anyway, at election time, everything becomes apocalyptic.”

“…to have this sense of either, if whoever I voted for wins, I’m exuberant, it’s like, ‘I win,’ that’s not really true. And if somebody I didn’t like wins and that means everything’s over, everything falls apart. Well, that’s not true either.” - Russel Moore (Podcast)
